ZIMBABWE national football team striker Tino Kadewere has completed a permanent transfer to French toplight side Nantes after his contract with Olympique Lyon expired at the end of last month.

He is reported to have signed a three-year deal with the side.

The Warriors’ striker was on a six-month loan contract with Nantes from Lyon and has decided to stick with the former, expressing his commitment to side on his social media Instagram page.

“I am looking forward to joining FC Nantes and taking on new challenges. I am determined to give my all and proudly represent the colours of this historic club. See you soon on the pitch,” Kadewere said.

Both Nantes and Lyon are in the French Ligue 1.

Transfermarkt.com values Kadewere at €2,5 million, a drop from €14 million when he joined Lyon from Ligue 2 outfit Le Harve.

When Lyon signed Kadewere, the striker remained at Le Harve on loan for what was left of the season.

In 2022, Kadewere was loaned to Mallorca in Spain before returning to his parent club.

In January this year, the striker moved to Nantes on loan and he has agreed to stay on permanently until June 2027.

Kadewere was part of the Warriors’ 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers in Rwanda last November and in South Africa last month.
