THE Nedbank Premier Netball League is heading to Gweru this weekend for an action-packed event at Thornhill High School. Fans can expect to enjoy a total of 43 matches, which will warm up the freezing conditions.

The top spots in the 15-team log standings are currently occupied by the army sides, Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) and Black Rhinos, both tied on 16 points. However, ZDF lead with a superior goal difference.

The log leaders will be looking to consolidate their position even on away ground, following their impressive victories in the last bubble held in Harare at the Stoddart Netball Complex. ZDF dominated with a 75-28 win against Harare District and a commanding 111-16 victory over Seven Flames.

Other notable contenders in the league include Girls Dzetonaz, Harare City, and Harare District, all tied for third and fourth place with 14 points, while Stormers is closely behind at fifth place with the same number of points.

The upcoming weekend's matches promise to be thrilling, including the battle of the city between Harare District and Harare City on Saturday on Court 2. On Sunday, the matches to watch include the clash between ZDF Queens and Harare City on Court 1. Additionally, basement sides Agisters and St Peter & Paul will have a chance to get points on the board when they face off on Court 2 on Sunday.
