HARARE Polytechnic volleyball team received a shot in the arm ahead of this year edition of the Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union (ZITSU) games after receiving two playing kits from a local sports and apparel deal, Ideal Sports on Tuesday.

The Harare Polytechnic volleyball team will be part of the two teams that is set to represent the polytechnic at the tertiary games.

Following the donation of the playing kits, Ideal Sports Managing director, Ideal Svovanepasi, believes it is the duty of the corporate world to play a part in the development of the sport in the country

“We were approached by the Harare Volleyball Association sourcing up some resources for the team’s participation at the upcoming ZITSU games and as part of our CSR [corporate social responsibility], we are ready come in support our future sports stars through various donations and we are happy to have donated the volleyball kits to the Harare Polytechnic team.

“As we were introducing our new part to our sports section, which a sublimation printing we saw it fit to start this exciting feature with a partnership with the Harare Volleyball hence the reason behind making this small gesture to the team,” Svovanepasi said.

In welcoming the gesture, the Harare Polytechnic player and Zimbabwe Volleyball men’s national team vice-captain, Tanaka Hwara, described the donation as shot in the arm for his charges.

“We are really thankful to Ideal Sport for coming in at the right time.

“I believe this donation will motivate us going onto the court and we would want to carry the brand with pride,” Hwara said.
