DYNAMOS coach Genesis Mangombe has hit out at a section of the team’s fans which staged a protest against him despite leading the team to a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League win against Arenel Movers at Rufaro Stadium yesterday.
This was DeMbare’s second win of the season, but the fans were not happy that all the wins so far have come against newly-promoted sides.
They waved professionally printed placards well before the match demanding that the coach leaves.
After the match, the fans increased the tempo demanding the exit of the former Yadah coach.
Mangombe secured a win, which he thought might have eased pressure on him.
Yesterday’s win comes after a month-long dry spell for Dynamos, with their last victory coming on April 21 against TelOne.

An abandoned match against Chegutu Pirates followed, before a string of frustrating draws.
Dynamos have only managed two wins in 12 matches, with the Chegutu Pirates likely to be their third win after the newcomers’ supporters caused the abandonment of the match.
Mangombe questioned the fans who staged a protest against him.
“If a coach fails, he must go, but if the bosses are seeing something in you, then there is progress. If fans starts singing such songs, then there is a problem,” he said.
“Remember we are not losing games. We won today and the log standing has changed. If we get points from the Chegutu Pirates match, we will be in the top six, so we don’t know what they [supporters] want and we should just please them by winning.
“At times we lose games because of some reasons beyond our control. I don’t believe these are true supporters of Dynamos who are singing against me. It’s hard when your own supporters are singing against you at a time when you are winning.”
Arenel Movers were much better heading into the game. They were winless in seven matches, with just a single draw to their name.
This poor form left them second from bottom in the standings with 10 points.
Dynamos captain Emmanuel Jalai opened the scoring in the 16th minute, while Namibian import Saying Orykobu added his first goal of the season to secure the win for the home side.
Arenel Movers came back in the second half a more determined side. They pushed hard and only found a consolation goal.
Mangombe’s counterpart Farai Tawachera was impressed by his team’s performance.
