DeMbare seek revenge

Mangombe said his team will play better in the smooth lush greens of Rufaro Stadium.

DYNAMOS are looking to revenge their Castle Challenge Cup defeat to Ngezi Platinum Stars when the two teams clash in their first league meeting of this season at Rufaro Stadium tomorrow.

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Ngezi Platinum Stars thumped DeMbare 2-0 in the Challenge Cup and now Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe believes the platform is well set for his team to punch back at Takesure Chiragwi's side.

Ngezi Platinum Stars have endured a difficult start to their attempt at title defence currently sitting a point above the drop zone.

Dynamos also had a slow start, but slightly better than Ngezi. DeMbare are likely to be awarded three points from their abandoned match against Chegutu Pirates on Thursday.

Chegutu Pirates players declined to return to the pitch after 20 minutes stoppage due to crowd trouble. The melee was triggered by an Emmanuel Paga goal in added time which Pirates contested had not crossed the line.

Mangombe said his team will play better in the smooth lush greens of Rufaro Stadium.

"Now it's a revenge match, they managed to beat us in the Challenge Cup. Now we want to make sure we give our best so that we can win this one playing at home. We will do our best, we will not change anything. We will play the way I want which is to keep possession. I think this time it's going to be better because you see this pitch (Baobab Stadium) is bumpy, so we cannot push the ball the way we want. So at Rufaro we are promising our fans a very entertaining game on Sunday," the confident Mangombe said.

Ngezi Platinum will need to dig deep in this one, having won just one match so far this season. On Wednesday they were frustrated to a draw by fellow strugglers Yadah Stars. They picked up just three points from their last four matches. Last season Dynamos won 2-1 at home, while Ngezi took all three points in their own home meeting with the Harare giants.

So far this season both teams have been struggling for goals, scoring just five each. Mangombe wants his side to improve that aspect of their game.

"It's good that we are creating chances and there are a lot of avenues, but still  the problem is the way we are fluffing chances, especially the strikers. It's okay, we are creating a lot of chances, but we are not doing justice."

He will be hoping that his forwards, including Valentine Kadonzvo, playing against his former paymaster as well as Paga can polish their act in front of goal.
