TWO of the country's top golfers Scott and Kieran Vincent are set to take part in this year's edition of the FBC Zimbabwe Open at Royal Harare Golf Club early next month.
The Vincent brothers are currently playing in the lucrative LIV Golf league.
The 12th edition of the remodelled Zim Open, with FBC Holdings as the title sponsors for the third year running, was launched at the Press briefing at Royal Harare yesterday.
Scheduled to run from May 5 to 12, the FBC Zimbabwe Open will see a field of 144 golfers vying for top honours in the country's annual premier golf tournament.
Speaking at a Press briefing, tournament director Michael Mahachi revealed that the Vincent brothers have confirmed their participation.
"It gives me great pleasure to announce that for the first time since we reintroduced the Zim Open in 2010, Zimbabwe is going to be represented at the event by the country's top five players on the world rankings," he said.
"I was not sure it was right to announce this but this morning I made sure that I contacted the Vincent brothers’ management team in the US to make this announcement. And they confirmed that Scott Vincent and Kieran Vincent will participate in the Zim Open
"This is the first time that we have a strong contingent of Zimbabwean players at the event. Scott and Kieran will be flying from Sentosa in Singapore on May 5 to be part of the Zim Open.

"We are privileged to have Scott and Kieran participating in this event. We are also going to be represented by Robson Chinhoi who won the Zambia Open last year and is doing well on the Sunshine Tour.
"The other two players who will be representing Zimbabwe and are doing so well in the Asian Tour and the Sunshine Tour are Ben Follett-Smith and Stuart Krog. We expect these golfers to give good competition to the international field that we are expecting," Mahachi added.
He also revealed that Zim Open 2001 champion Darren Fichardt who plays on the European and Sunshine Tour will also take part in the event.
Fichardt will be joined by his son Ethan who finished as runner-up in the just ended Zimbabwe Junior Golf Open.
