Genesis Mangombe's tenure as Dynamos head coach is hanging by a thread after his side fell to Simba Bhora in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match yesterday.
Walter Musona's exquisite finish, against the run of play, in first half stoppage time was all the home side required to get the victory in front of a heaving Wadzanai Stadium.
It was Simba Bhora's first ever victory over DeMbare since their promotion into the topflight last year.
More crucially, the big win moved the title-chasing Shamva side into second position on the log standings with 13 points, just one behind log leaders Highlanders after six rounds of matches.
Dynamos are languishing in 14th place with six points after their wretched run extended to one win in their first six games of the season.
Simba’s victory piles pressure on underfire Mangombe with reports suggesting that his bosses' patience is wearing thin and are ready to pull the trigger.
“We tried all means to dominate the first half, we tried to create a lot of chances. If you are not clinical then you can play the whole 90 minutes and you will not score,” Mangombe lamented.

“We made one mistake, and we were punished. We need to improve on our scoring, our final third need to improve. We created some chances and if we were lucky, we could have scored one. But that is a game of football, we accept that, and we move forward.”
The added frustration for Mangombe is that his side completely dominated the first half and looked so lively up until that point when Musona showed great composure to beat Shadreck Nyahwa to the ball before squeezing it past the outdrawn Martin Mapisa.
Early in the game, Musona rattled the upright from a freekick in another rare chance for the home side who were content to sit back and defend.
Dynamos had chances through Elton Chikona who headed wide while Donald Mudadi had his shot saved by Simba Bhora goalkeeper Talbert Shumba.
Temptation Chiwunga and Emmanuel Jalai tried from range as the visitors became desperate in a dominant first half display.
Buoyed by Musona's goal, the hosts were a completely different side in the second half as they took the game to Dynamos and created the better chances.
Musona sat several defenders down just after the hour mark, but his curler just missed the target.
The victory was Simba's third on the trot and fourth of the season.
Coach Tonderai Ndiraya is a happy man.
“Second win at home and the first against Dynamos so it's exciting. We were not playing a small team and I think Dynamos came and showed that they are not pushovers. Tactically, they were superior to us in the first half in midfield. We were failing to do things right tactically, but in the end the quality of Musona carried the day for us,” Ndiraya said.
