Chapungu in fine start, as Sheasham get off to a slow take-off

Chapungu set an early marker of their intentions this season when they turned on their class to beat newcomers Beitbridge FC 3-0 at Ascot stadium on Saturday.

AIRFORCE Side Chapungu started the 2024 Ruvimbo Central Region Soccer League on a winning note, while the star-studded Sheasham failed to gunner maximum points.

At total of 19 goals were scored in the eight games that were played over the weekend, with Blanket Mine recording the biggest win of MatchDay one.

Only one match between former Premier Soccer League side Shabanie and Amazon did not take for reasons that were not disclosed. The fixture was postponed to a later date.

FC Platinum Under 19 forced a share of spoils in a 2-2 draw away to Bishopstone FC. 

Newbies West Nicholson made banging arrival in the lower tie league after beating MSU FC 2-0.

Meanwhile the other newcomers Dinson Mvuma and Wangu Mazodze City drew 0-0 at Mvuma stadium.

The biggest win of the opening week came from Max Ruza's Blanket Mine who drubbed Gokwe North 5-0 on Sunday.
