HIGHLANDERS coach Baltemar Brito is groping in the dark over his future at the club with Bosso yet to engage him over contract extension.
His contract expires at the end of the season and it seems Highlanders are not keen on offering the Brazilian gaffer a new deal.
He has another contract with the Warriors running until June next year.
Brito admitted his love for the club and Bulawayo, but he may have to leave.
His job at the senior men’s national team is on an interim basis and he will serve during the tenure of the Zifa Normalisation Committee which expires next year.
Quizzed on whether he sees himself at Highlanders next year after a poor run in the second half of the season which saw the team slump in the championship race and relegated to position five on the log table, Brito said the ball is in Highlanders’ court.
“This is a question that I cannot answer because it doesn’t depend on me but we want to stay here; we like the city, we like the country, we like the club but for us to be still here will depend on us being approached. For now we have our contracts until December. If there is no conversation what we need to do is pack our things and go to our country,” Brito said.
He added: “We were not approached because we were focusing on other things. We were trying our best trying to achieve something good for the club. We have not been approached and it does not depend on us but on two parties agreeing on something. Let’s see what the future can bring.”

Brito incensed his bosses when he revealed that he had applied for the Warriors coaching job and they also clashed over the failure to sign Chicken Inn striker Obriel Chirinda in the mid-season transfer window.
However, Highlanders went on to sanction his move to the national team.
With four matches to the end of the season, Highlanders travel to Lowveld to face troubled Triangle at Gibbo Stadium tomorrow. Triangle are reported to have parted ways with coach Thulani Sibanda.
