HIGHLANDERS veteran Rahman Kutsanzira said he is prepared to use his experience to help his side overcome Caps United when the two sides clash in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
Following Manica Diamonds’ win over Dynamos in a mid-week re-arranged fixture, the Bulawayo giants slid further down the ladder to position four but are still nine points behind title favourites Ngezi Platinum Stars, two behind Manica and a point behind Dynamos.
Kutsanzira, a former Caps United player who has been used sparingly at Bosso this season, played a full match in the goalless draw against Bulawayo Chiefs at BF.
“It will be a tough game but I will use my experience and the boys will use their energy. I will help them where I can and we will assist each other but they will have to use their energy and I will use my experience. We prepared for this match very well and we are raring to go,” Kutsanzira said.
Highlanders have been playing without one of their captains Peter Muduhwa, who was slapped with a four-match ban for his part in the abandoned league match against Dynamos, and Kutsanzira comes in as good cover with coach Baltemar Brito shuffling his backline.
Andrew Mbeba has reverted to central position with Marvelous Chigumira at rightback while Kutsanzira plays on the leftback.
Highlanders’ title hopes have faded although they still have a mathematical chance of reviving the campaign, but Brito has shot down the idea.
The Bulawayo giants last won a league match on September 17 when they beat struggling Yadah after their first two defeats of the season to FC Platinum and Chicken Inn.

After the two losses, they played Dynamos in the called-off tie which was later given to the Glamour Boys in a 3-0 score-line.
They lost to Hwange and Simba Bhora and have played four draws during the period.
It will be a miracle turn-around if the Bulawayo giants win the league in the last five matches with the way their results have been coming.
The last time Caps United were in Bulawayo, they beat Highlanders in the Chibuku Super Cup but Bosso claimed victory in a league game at home against the Green Machine.
The Lloyd Chitembwe-coached side also needs to win the next five games to end the season in a respectable position as they sit on position eight on the log table, with 37 points.
After a poor start to the season and along the way, Makepekepe have rejuvenated, going on a four-match unbeaten run with three wins and a draw which shot them to position eight.
However, they are still fighting relegation with the five matches remaining.
