DYNAMOS . . . . . . (1)2

DYNAMOS heralded the beginning of a new era with an important win in their first Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match since the departure of coach Herbert Maruwa.

Now under the tutelage of Genesis Mangombe, DeMbare yesterday produced a performance full of passion and inspiration to take all points against newboys Seasham at Bata Stadium.

Jayden Bakari and Ellie Ilunga were on target for the Glamour Boys, who were dominant in all respects of the match.

Mangombe was on cloud nine after the win, saying his men responded well to his tactical approach.

This was DeMbare’s second win on the trot under Mangombe’s leadership, albeit, on interim basis.

“I’m pleased with the win. It’s always difficult to play away from home, playing at this field,” Mangombe said.

“I’m happy that we managed to create so many chances and eventually we got two good goals.

“Some of the things will be identified as we progress. We are trying to have the ball move faster. We want to attack as a unit and defend as a unit.

“It’s all about professional football. I’m happy with the intensity. My boys are getting the confidence and that is what we all wanted.”

Dynamos started the match slowly, but gained momentum after 20 minutes.

Prior to that, Sheasham striker Liberty Masveure wasted two glorious chances.

In quick succession, Masveure failed to beat Prince Tafiremutsa, who was at his mercy, with his first effort being palmed away.

His header from the resultant corner kick missed the target by inches.

Dynamos seized control of proceedings after the 20 minute mark, with Bakare coming close in quick succession as he missed the target by inches.

Bakari had a goal ruled out for offside on the half hour mark. He went on to break the deadlock on the 36th minute when he headed the ball home from what looked like a hapless cross from Elton Chikona.

Sheasham may as well blame goalie, Liberty Chirava, who had a bad day in office, failing to make routine saves.

Chirava almost cost the Construction Boys, with a weak pass from the back which was intercepted by Keith Madera, who picked Bakari.

The former WhaWha attacker hit the cross bar with a rasping shot.

The Glamour Boys kept the pace in the second half, with substitute Emmanuel Paga hitting the side netting on 63 minutes.

Moments later, Physiwell Madhazi also missed the target from close range for the home side.

And Dynamos punished them in the 78th minute.

Second-half substitute Ilunga doubled the scores, with a cool finish from inside the box after he combined well with Paga.

Sheasham tried hard to find a consolation goal, but all their efforts hit a brick wall finding centre-backs Kevin Moyo and Frank Makarati solid.

Sheasham gaffer Lizwe Sweswe admitted that his men failed to live up to expectations.

“It’s still work in progress. We got chances that we could have buried. The game was balanced from my angle. We conceded soft goals,” he said.

“We can do better. We go back to training and work on the few areas we noted today.

“What is important are the goals and I am confident, we will reach them. I came here despite being number two from the bottom knowing we will reach our goal.”
