HIGHLANDERS produced a brilliant second half performance to beat Yadah FC in a Castle Lager Premiership encounter at the National Sports Stadium yesterday and joined Caps United and FC Platinum at the top of the log standings.
A second half brace from substitute and debutante Calvin 'Kung-Fu Panda' Chigonero secured maximum points for Highlanders as they continued their impressive start to the season.
The victory took Bosso's points tally to 11, level with Caps United and FC Platinum at the top of the log.
Chigonere, who debuted for Highlanders yesterday, joined Bosso from Southern Region Division One side Talen Vision after scoring 17 goals from open play in the Zifa Southern Region Division One League.
He was just two goals behind the league’s top goal scorer, Stanson Khanye of Quality Foods who scored 19 goals.
The two teams played a drab first half in which both sides could have scored as Stanley Ngala and Junior Zindoga missed clear chances.

Bosso coach Baltermar Brito changed the complexion of the game with a double substitution which saw Melikhaya Ncube and Darlington Mukuli making way for Chigonero and Brighton Manhire in the 62nd minute.
In less than 10 minutes Chigonere had registered his first goal for Bosso after taping in the ball home off Andrew Mbeba's cross.
Nine minutes later, in the 79th minute Kung-Fu Panda doubled the lead for Bosso, putting the game beyond the reach of the youthful Yadah side.
Bosso came into the match on the back of a four-match unbeaten streak and basking in glory after defeating rivals Dynamos 5-3 in a penalty shootout to defend the Uhuru Cup midweek.
Brito dedicated the win to his players whom he said are working hard in training.
"The win is for the players, they are the ones who put in a lot of work at training and we are happy for the three points," he said.
Commenting on Chigonero's debut, Brito said he was happy for the forward but maintained that he needed to work more. "We are happy for his goals and that it was his first match. He should work more for the next games and most importantly should stay humble and level headed," he said.
Yadah FC coach Excellent Chitukutuku said despite the loss his youthful side was developing.
"The guys played very well and they are showing a big improvement in training and in matches," he said.
The result is disappointing to the fans and executive who want to see us win, but these youngsters will score because they are working on those weaknesses."
