THE Rainbow Amateur Netball League (RANL)  is set to host its 2022 awards ceremony tomorrow where teams and individual will walk away with prizes after last season's edition of the league.

The league's curtain came down early November last year after a number of exciting cluster matches during the course of the season.

The league's top three order did not change from the previous season, with Glow Petroleum retaining the title, while ZRP Mambas maintained their second slot and Correctional Queens finished in third place.

All the three teams were tied up on 58 points with only a goal difference separating them.

RANL secretary general Moses Gukurume  said everything is ready for the weekend ceremony.

A number of individual and teams awards categories are lined up, including the Golden Hand, Coach of the Season, Player of the Season and Rookie of the Season.

The champions, first runner up and second runner up will also receive prizes.

“These are exciting times as we reward teams that excelled in our league during the 2021/22 season and we are very excited about it. As we proceed with our awards, we have a number of categories that are going to be awarded. Just like our programme last year, we had a number of teams and individual awards and all other teams are going to walk away with something and that's our tradition in RANL we award everyone,” said Gukurume.

“As we begin 2023, it is a season that we are looking forward to and hopefully it will be yet another exciting journey. Our brand is growing from strength to strength and we feel encouraged by that. As you can also see that the championship button has been changing hands among our teams from year to year, it shows a lot of competition and that is exactly what we are looking forward to again this year — when competition will be very high.”

Preparations for the upcoming season are already rolling as the league gears up to take on board new teams.

“We are excited to say there are a lot of good and well sponsored teams that have shown interest in joining RANL. We will unveil their names as we progress. So, we are looking forward to a very exciting year and we are going to spread our games across the country,” he said.
