I’m in no hurry: Jaure

FORMER Dynamos captain Patson Jaure says he is not in a hurry to find a new club following an acrimonious split with the Harare giants.

His tenure at DeMbare ended rather disappointingly after the club decided against renewing his contract when it expired on December 31.

At least 13 players have been shown the exit door by the Herbert Maruwa-coached side in a massive clear-out that also claimed a number of other senior heads.

Jaure, the most high profile on the list, has since been told to return the club’s assets that include a Sakunda Holdings sponsored car he was using.

Speaking to NewsDay Sport yesterday, Jaure said he is taking his time before committing to a new club.

Two clubs are understood to have tabled their offers for the defender who have also played for University of Pretoria in South Africa, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Manica Diamonds in the domestic league.

Highlanders and newly promoted side Simba Bhora, now coached by former Dynamos coach Tonderai Ndiraya whose contract was also not renewed at year end, are believed to be eyeing the ex-Warriors defender.

“I’m relaxed about the situation,” Jaure said.

“I have some offers on the table, but I’m not in a rush. I'm taking my time because I have a lot of things to consider before I can commit to a new club. I’m negotiating with some clubs and I will have a clear picture this week,” he added.

A return to Manica Diamonds has  also been rumoured, but Jaure said that move is off the table.

He is one of seven players whose contracts were not renewed in a purge that also claimed the scalps of vice-captain Godknows Murwira who is believed to be on his way to Caps United, Keith Murera, Ralph Kawondera who hQAas since joined Manica Diamonds, and the foreign trio of Sylvester Appiah, Albert Eonde and Alex Orotomal.

Evans Katema and Martin Ofori have been put on transfer list, while juniors Luke Musikiri, Claivert Tshuma and Stephen Chatikobo, all from Prince Edward Academy, were also released.

Midfielder Trevor Mavhunga turned down an improved offer from the club and is on his way to Manica Diamonds, while left back Tinotenda Muringai is set for a move to Mozambique.

Negotiations between Frank Makarati and the club are dragging forever, and there are fears that the defender, who is the team’s preferred candidate to take over the captaincy, could be moving to a foreign club.

The club is already planning for life without Jaure and the potential loss of Makarati, two players who formed the backbone of the team last season when they finished third on the log standings.

They have reportedly roped in former FC Platinum and Bulawayo Chiefs fullback Elvis Moyo, who could soon be reunited with his twin brother Kelvin.

Reports suggest that Elvis has already signed a contract and negotiations with Kelvin are already at an advanced stage.

Other players who are heading to Dynamos are Eli Lunga who is rejoining his former coach Maruwa.

WhaWha’s teenage sensation Jayden Barake has also reportedly joined Dynamos, while Harare City midfielders Emmanuel Ziocha and defender Donald Dzvinyai have been training with DeMbare and are expected to sign.

Dynamos said they are almost done with their activities in the transfer market.

“All our stakeholders are notified that the club is almost through with the recruitment of new players to beef up our 2023 squad and a formal announcement will be made in due course,” said Dynamos spokesperson Tinashe Farawo.
