DYNAMOS are set to lose defender Tino Muringai, who is on his way to join Mozambique champions, UD Songo.
Without giving details, Dynamos spokesperson Tinashe Farawo confirmed yesterday that a foreign club had shown interest in their player.
Sources told NewsDay Sport yesterday that the young defender had impressed UD Songo after undergoing trials.
He reportedly travelled for assessment soon after the completion of the domestic campaign last month.
UD Songo are building a team to compete in the Caf Champions League after winning the league title earlier this month.
“The club was impressed with him and want to take him on board. They are looking for a left wingback and feel that Tino has the right qualities,” said a source.
Muringai’s handlers also confirmed that they had received offers from a club in Mozambique.
However, they said they were still weighing their options.

“We have received offers from teams in the southern African region. But we are keeping our options open because we also have some offers from Europe. He is a very talented player and everyone can see that he is now ripe for a move to Europe. The priority is to send him to Europe, but if that fails, then we can look for potential suitors in the region and other parts of Africa,” one of his handlers who refused to be named said.
Muringai had an outstanding campaign with Dynamos last season, helping the Harare giants to a third-place finish in the league.
The 22-year-old was a starter under outgoing coach Tonderai Ndiraya at the start of the campaign.
A knee injury midway through the season briefly disrupted his campaign, but once he had fully recovered, he reclaimed his spot in the team, where he played in the left side of a three-man defence until the end of the season.
It appears that Dynamos are already preparing for life without Muringai, with reports suggesting that they are eyeing Black Rhinos leftback Farai Banda.
But the Harare giants are likely to miss out on the highly-rated Rhinos skipper, who is reported to be on his way to Manica Diamonds.
DeMbare are looking to rebuild under new coach Herbert Maruwa, who replaced Ndiraya, with a mandate to win the league championship.
A number of players from last season, including the foreign contingent of Stephen Appiah, Albert Eonde and Alex Orotomal looks set to be released by the club after poor performances last season.
DeMbare are also reportedly closing in on Rhinos top striker Eli Ilunga, who has already signed a pre-contract, while WhaWha teenage sensation Jayden Barake has been spotted at their training sessions.
Barake is looking to rejoin his boyhood club, having risen through the Dynamos junior ranks, but failed to break into the first team before ending up at WhaWha for whom he scored nine goals last season.
Other players that have been spotted at the club’s training base include Rhinos’ exciting winger Keith Madera as well as midfielder Emmanuel Ziocha and defender Donald Dzvinyai of relegated Harare City.
