Mashonaland Eagles posted just 166 in their first innings where only Chamu Chibhabha and Stuart Matsikenyeri managed to score above 20 runs.
The most valuable bowler for the Rhinos in the first innings was Neville Madziva who picked up three wickets, whilst the rest of the Kwekwe team’s bowling order claimed the Eagles men quite evenly.
The Rhinos effectively bettered the low total set by Eagles, ending up all out for 279 runs after 83,2 overs. Malcolm Waller and Mark Vermeulen were their leading scorers with 73 and 67 runs respectively.
The second innings began with the Eagles trailing by a 113 runs. With an insignificant improvement to their first innings batting form, the Eagles were in a lot of trouble and consequentially found themselves all out for 170.
Graeme Cremer had a sensational bowling innings out, tormenting the Eagles with 5 wickets. 21-year-old Richard Muzhange did well to offer his support for the squad as he claimed three wickets.
Needing only 58 runs to win the test, the Rhinos were set to induce a comfortable trouncing. Vusimuzi Sibanda and Jaik Mickleburgh opened the Rhinos waltz to victory with an oddly conservative start.
