HWANGE coach Nation Dube blamed a “gift” goal to Dynamos by his defenders as they were forced to settle for a draw against the defending champions in a Castle Lager Premiership football match played at the Colliery yesterday.

Chipangano’s ambitions to collect maximum points went up in smoke in the 48th minute when Andrew Chuma tripped on the ball, losing possession to Ronald Chitiyo, who then delivered a good pass to Dominic Chungwa to hammer home the equaliser.
Hwange had taken the lead in the 8th minute through Munyaradzi Mungadze, who had received a well-calculated pass from Gilbert Zulu after eluding the Glamour Boys’ defence.
“We gave Dynamos a gift through that goal. The boys got many chances to score, but unfortunately failed to do so as our aim was to collect maximum points,” said Dube after the match.
Determined to burn DeMbare, the coalminers increased pressure at the visitors’ goal with Tatenda Mukuruva having to bear a barrage of attacks from Farai Vimisai.
However, it was in the 21stminute that Dube’s boys almost doubled their scoreline when a fiery Vimisai rocket was deflected over the bar by Mukuruva.

Dynamos failed to utilise an opportunity that had presented itself five minutes before half time when Godknows Murwira was left unmarked, but chose to drove his shot off course.
The Glamour Boys came back stronger in the second half and three minutes later their persistence paid off, thanks to Chuma’s slip. Dynamos gaffer David Mandigora described the game as tough.
“It was a tough game which saw us conceding an early goal. The boys played well and I’m happy that we managed to salvage a point away from home.”
With the draw, Dynamos remained in third place with 27 points, one behind Triangle on 28 after they also picked up a point in their 1-1 draw against Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium yesterday.
Both Triangle and Dynamos failed to take advantage of leaders Chicken Inn’s 2-0 loss to Caps United at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.
