Educationist and musician-cum-pastor Daisy Mukariri alongside her husband pastor Brighton Mukariri were recently conferred with honorary doctorate degrees from the Jiazo Bible University USA.
Pastor Daisy received the Doctor of Education degree while Pastor Brighton was conferred with a Doctor of Leadership degree at a graduation ceremony held in Lusaka, Zambia recently.
The couple are pastors at the Emmanuel Fellowship Ministries church in Chitungwiza.
“I am happy to have received the award, but I take it as a challenge,” said Daisy.
“I have to prove to the world that I am worthy the title according to Romans 12:1-2.
“The award has catapulted me into another paradigm of commitment to serving the Lord.

“I have realised that all our hard work in ministry does not go unnoticed.
“God has marvellous ways of rewarding us and the doctor title has increased my confidence to approach people of all backgrounds including those of high ranking.”
Daisy, who is the principal of Bright Daisies Christian Institute, a primary and high school facility in Chitungwiza, said being a Doctor of Christian Education would help inspire students who pass through our hands.
“I know that we have seeds of success to plant,” she said.
“The recognition is motivating me to continuously teach them on how they can become sons and daughters whom their families can be proud of both in academic excellence, in character and in serving God.
“Both myself and my husband are the first to carry that title in our families though other family members, who have done exceptionally well and have immensely contributed to our success story.
“We wouldn’t be here without their support. The awards are a tribute to the Munengwa and the Mukariri families, Emmanuel Fellowship Ministries, our friends in Christ and the Bright Daisies fraternity.”
