Players in the construction industry believe the government alone cannot mitigate the housing challenges, hence the need to work collectively.
The government is targeting to deliver at least 470 000 housing units across the country under the National Housing Delivery Programme by 2030.
According to the 2020 Zimbabwe Infrastructure Investment Programme, the national housing deficit stands at 1,3 million.
As such, players such as Pavcon Industries, a concrete manufacturing company, has joined the band wagon.
“We are in support of the government's housing delivery programme,” said Pavcon Industries CEO Shelton Paza.
“Government alone can not achieve this, hence the need for us to join in and bring packages that make the housing sector attractive.

“At the moment we have the Takaenda Promotion where we have discounts on products and services,” he said.
“The promotion started at the beginning of June and ends on December 31.
“Our packages also consider our colleagues and relatives in the Diaspora.”
Pavcon Industries produces interlocking pavers, compressed common bricks and kerbstones, among a host of other products.
Paza said his company has also joined the digital space bandwagon.
“Pavcon has joined social media spaces with a heavy presence on Facebook,” he said.

“Today’s business is done online and we hope to increase our presence online.”
