“That was about a year after it had launched and I began to listen to it.
“I absolutely loved it and so when the time for my attachment came, I applied there.
“I was mostly working on the breakfast show with MisRed and TK as well as Ruvheneko.
“Later I worked on the Exhale Bloc with Patience Musa.”
Dube reflected on how she had initially wanted to be an accountant.
“That was the plan, but when I fell in love with the media, my dad insisted that I study it formally because he was passionate about education,” she said.
“So I dropped ACCA after two years and went to study for a Diploma in journalism and media at the Harare Polytechnic in 2013.
“After completing my studies I went back to ZiFM and started as a graduate trainee in 2015.
“I later became a junior reporter and then senior reporter. In October 2022 I got promoted to be the programming manager, a position I held until I joined Nash TV.
“So for me it’s like I have been given an opportunity to circle back to where I started my media journey — TV.
Dube said she had always been poised for leadership as she is the first born in her family.
“That naturally makes one the leader of the siblings in a way,” she said.
“Even in high school I was deputy headgirl (at Queen Elizabeth High) and l was also president of the debate club and house captain.”
Dube now holds an honours degree from the Midlands State University.
She had a brief stint at the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation..
