The catchy phrase "Nawanadem," featured in the hit song Dhanzi by Master H and Voltz JT, took the country by storm at the beginning of the year.
People sung it, danced to it, and integrated it into everyday conversations, even before its true meaning was known.
The hype surrounding the word propelled the song to one million views on YouTube and a coveted spot at number three on the most trending songs in Zimbabwe.
In an interview with Star FM, Master H clarified the origin of “Nawanadem”, explaining that it's a Jamaican term meaning “the one I name”.
Voltz JT offered his own interpretation, associating it with phrases like “waiziva” (you know it) or “for real.”
This isn't the only victory for the duo.
