REIGNING Miss University of Zimbabwe Queen Kareen Zvikomberero Katsande, says stereotypes surrounding the modelling industry that do not favour her appearance, could not derail her vision and ambition to become a top model.
Karen said what sets her apart from other models is her ability to speak out and break stereotypes that have to do with modelling.
"You see, most people say you have to be a certain height, weight and of a certain figure so that you can be successful in modelling,” she said.
“l was deemed too short to be a model. l broke all the stereotypes through my ability to walk, talk and convince everyone that any body type or any body shape and size are good enough to win a pageant."
Katsande added that her personal style is mostly pastel colour-based, and toned down shades of clothing.
As part of her duties as the Queen, she has embarked on philanthropic work and partnered with King Solomon to donate sanitary wear and clothes at Mount Hampden children's centre .
