MY Image Consultancy is set to host its inaugural Kids and Teens Models Awards at the Zimbabwe College of Music on December 10.
The awards are meant to honour young talent in the fashion and modelling industry.
The nomination list has 15 categories- model of the year, kids pageantry model of the year, teens pageantry model of the year, commercial model of the year, runway model of the year, fashion model of the year, toddler model of the year, most talented model of the year, most photogenic, most stylish, most promising, best newcomer, influencer of the year, video vixen of the year and outstanding charity project.
The organiser Mary Mundeya said the awards are open to everyone who is young.
“We put out a public call for anyone who knows or has a child model to nominate them and in some instances, some kids were nominated by people who just know what they do and we made a follow up on the nominees and asked them to submit their portfolios,” she said.
The former model said the main idea behind the awards is to celebrate young talent as they recognize the contributions these children are giving to the fashion and modelling industry as a whole.

“This serves as a platform to recognise the works and efforts made by the young models and fashionistas, the young ones have been doing a lot of work, but it is being overshadowed by the grown-ups hence we need to recognise them.
“We are also hosting these awards as a way of raising awareness as far as environmental conservation is concerned in young children as the issue of child marriage has been rampant since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic," she said.
Adjudicators for the event are from the industries of modelling, pageantry, fashion and commerce.
