Despite many show organisers cancelling their scheduled events due to the upsurge in Covid-19 cases, organisers of the annual Mapopoma Festival, Dollarbill Entertainment in Victoria Falls, Bill Entertainment said they are going on with this year’s edition of the jamboree.
The event will be held on December 30 and 31, at the Kingdom Hotel in Victoria Falls.
The event will be headlined by Nutty O, Feli Nandi, Holy Ten, Djembe Monks, King 98, Mzoe7, Muffia King, Jerry Springer, Yung Fresh, Conz, CJAY, Snappy and Kivo Santana.
Some shows featuring foreigners such as the Home coming concert in Harare and Bulawayo were rescheduled for April. The Homecoming concert was to be headlined by South African star Focalistic, Winky D, Holy Ten, among others.
“Our festival is localized, we have always supported local artists and wheel spinners so we really have no reason to cancel and it can’t be a holiday in Victoria Falls without Mapopoma Festival,” said Hweva Joe Mvura of Dollarbill Entertainment.

“Our preparations are at an advanced stage, our performing line up and sets are complete and all is set for the festivities.
“Our venue is the same as last year, which is the Kingdom Hotel, its big, smart and offers indoor facilities in order to avoid the rain.
“We have a refreshing line up, well balanced and we will support it with a world class setup. We have scratched the VVIP section and left with VIP and ordinary sections only, this is because we want to make the festival as favorable to everyone.”
Mzoe 7 who on Friday released a new song and video titled Ginimbi said he is expecting to perform his best at the festival in Victoria Falls.
“I am excited about the festival and looking forward to performing my best and also to serve people new music and new dances. We need to dance ourselves into 2022,” he said.
