Herentals……………. (1)1
FC Platinum…………(0)0
A HOWLER by FC Platinum goalkeeper Petros Mhari gifted centre back Brighton Majarira the solitary strike, which saw Herentals claim their first top-flight league win over the champions at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.
Herentals, who joined premier league football back in 2018, had lost all but one of their last four meetings against the Zvishavane based side.
The Students’ best result against the platinum miners was a draw before they changed all that with a dogged performance at home.

After a cagey start to the match, Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva’s charges slowly took control of the game and it was no surprise when they took the lead after 25 minutes of play.
Tafadzwa Jimu broke free on the right and forced a brilliant save from Mhari, giving Herentals a corner kick.
Mhari did well to punch away the swinging corner kick by Prince Chama but made a mess of a shot that followed, spilling the ball in front of an alert Majarira who blasted home from close range.
Try as they may, FC Platinum failed to recover from the setback as Herentals hung on for a historic victory.
