Black Rhinos ……. (0) 1

Ngezi Platinum … (0) 1

FORMER Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari’s difficult start to life as Ngezi Platinum coach continued after his side rescued a point late in the match against Black Rhinos at Sakubva Stadium yesterday.

Ngezi Platinum went into the match hoping to recover from last week’s defeat to Harare City, but were left with a point after a share of the spoils.

Rhinos started off brightly dominating for long periods, but couldn’t create clear cut chances and only went into the lead after an hour when referee Tatenda Bvekerwa awarded them  a controversial penalty adjudging Kudzi Chigwida to have deliberately handled the ball in the penalty box in a bid to clear it out of danger.

Eli Lunga took it. Goalkeeper Nelson Chadya remained rooted to the spot as the ball hit the nets.

However the visitors levelled matters on 10 minutes before fulltime courtesy of Ariel Makopa, who capitalised on breakdown of communication between goalkeeper Mwandimutsira and his defense to fire into the nets.

Mwaruwari while acknowledging referees were human beings bound to make mistakes felt the decision to award Rhinos a penalty cost them points.
