LOWVELD side Triangle FC have made a quick return to the Premier Soccer League after winning the Zifa Eastern Region Soccer League, in a title race that was decided on the last day.
Wangu Mazodze who started the season as favourites, at some point leading by a staggering 14 points, ended the season as the bridesmaids.
They plunged into the last match tied on 69 points. Both Triangle FC and Wangu Mazodze had high hopes of winning the title.
However, Triangle FC emerged as the winners on goal difference, as both teams won their respective final matches.
Triangle beat Rusitu FC 1-0 at Gibbo Stadium courtesy of a goal by Munashe Bamara after two minutes of play.
On the other hand, Wangu Mazodze thumped Surrey FC 3-0 at Mucheke Stadium. But that was not enough as the Sugar Boys sailed through on goal difference.

Both teams ended the 2024 Zifa Eastern Region season with 72 points.
Coach Luke Masomere who turned Triangle's fortunes around was on cloud nine following their latest milestone.
“We worked hard for this. The doctor of football is back, but we have to give praise to the players and everyone for the team effort.
“We believed in each other hence the result of winning the title. I am hopeful of more good strides for us as a team,” Masomere said.
Triangle join ZPC Hwange, Kwekwe United and Scottland FC who were promoted from the Southern, Central and Northern regions, respectively.
Masomere and his men will shift focus to the inaugural Champions of Champions Cup scheduled for Bata Stadium in Gweru from December 7 to 8.
