WESTSIDE grafted their way into the National Premier League (NPL) T20 Blast playoffs after handing SOGO Rangers their first defeat of the tournament on Tuesday.
The Mutare-based side sealed the last slot on eight points together. Gladiators, with a better net run rate, dislodged Rainbow by nine wickets in an afternoon match played at Harare Sports Club.
SOGO Rangers and Takashinga Patriots 1 finished first and second, respectively, with 12 and 10 points.
It was, however, an unforgiving end for defending champions Takashinga Patriots 2, who picked up form too little. too late with an eight-wicket drubbing of Queens Sports Club at Takashinga Cricket Club in Highfield late afternoon.
Cephas "Big Bully" Zhuwao, decimated Queens bowlers in brutal style. He scored 86 runs, not out from 34 balls, but his effort could not help his team remain in the hunt.
Zhuwao clobbered Queens bowler Petros Sithole for 28 runs in the 10th over made up of four sixes and a boundary. He then finished the match off, hitting Nkosi Ndiweni for 22 runs as Takashinga Patriots 2 chased down 124 in 11.5 overs, reaching 126/2.

Wishnenzy Chapfombo, on the other side, starred with the ball, taking five wickets for 18 runs from four overs as Patriots 2 restricted Queens to 124/9 in 20 overs.
