CHEGUTU PIRATES... 0
CHICKEN Inn were held to a goalless draw by Chegutu Pirates in a lifeless Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Luveve Stadium yesterday.
The only spectacle of the match came in the 62nd minute when the Gamecocks' substitute Brighton Makopa' goal celebration was cut shot after the referee of the day Busani Siwawa adjudged Malvin Hwata to have handled the ball in the ensuing attack from a George Majika cross.
In the first half a speculative attempt at goal by Chegutu Pirates substitute Tinotenda Ditima in the 23rd narrowly missed the upright with Chicken Inn goalkeeper Donovan Bernard seemingly off-guard.
Makopa, hungry for that elusive goal, had his effort sail over the bar in the 65th minute.

Chicken Inn have only won one game in their last six matches but are on position four on the log-table with 21 points.
Assistant coach Fungai Kwashi had no kind words for the Chicken Inn players.
"Pathetic, lacklustre, poor, off the boil, we had a bad game. The guys did not come to the party. There is no excuse when you play football games at home, when you play at home, you need to maximise and get the three points. I am not going to defend these guys. We are in a business of results where people have to deliver. We were poor, we were not at the races. We failed to click against a team which was playing 4-5-1 low block," Kwashi said.
Day Gutu, for Chegutu Pirates was happy with the point away from home as his side is in a precarious position on the log table, in danger of a quick return to Division One football.
"I am quite relieved, coming from two identical defeats. A point away from home; I am relieved. We are sitting in a very precarious position. That point will go a very long way in improving our position," Gutu said.
