The CEO Africa Roundtable hosted its CEO Cup at Elephant Hills Golf Club in Victoria Falls a fortnight ago - bringing together captains of industry to the immense beauty of one of the world’s finest Safari Resorts.
The tournament organiser, board member, and professional golfer Gary Thompson won his own tournament!
Then he got to choose his own prize.
“Yeah, I promise this hasn’t happened to me much. I play off scratch and we had such wonderful people in our group with the exception of Kenias Mafukidze, he’s a hard hitter and trash-talks us so we decided to punish him on the greens and tee!” Thompson laughed.
“But seriously Zimbabwe has such quality people - like Oswell (Bimba) our chairman, Ken (Mafukidze)-including our own politicians- you know what? The great game of golf teaches us to play together- perform better together- compete- complement- no matter our level. Check out what happened to Tendai (Biti) and his new friend!” said the pro-golfer.
Thompson commented that individuals show their true character after four hours on a golf course together.
