HIGHLANDERS are praying that Ngezi Platinum Stars keep dropping points, hoping that they win their last six remaining games for them to win the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.
Bosso are looking to start that run with a win over Bulawayo Chiefs at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow after they drew against Green Fuel midweek.
Ngezi Platinum, who lead the pack with 54 points, lost to Dynamos on Wednesday but on that day, the Bulawayo giants on 47 points, failed to close the gap after the 1-1 draw.
Assistant coach Joel Luphahla is still optimistic that they can bounce back to winning ways and put up the fight for the league title which has appeared to be slippery after winning only one game in the last eight games.
Despite their poor form of late, Highlanders are still chasing on position two with 47 points, with Dynamos and FC Platinum on 46 points.
“We failed to reduce the gap to five points but we managed to reduce it to seven. We still have 18 points to play and don’t know what will happen. Remember Ngezi is coming here on the last day of the season. We hope that they get to drop points along the way and we don’t allow the other teams creeping from the back to catch up with us.

“For that to happen, we just have to start winning. We have to try and ensure that in these last six games, we collect all the points. We are left with two games away. Those are going to be difficult games. We need to make sure that in the four games that we are going to play here at Barbourfields Stadium, we collect maximum points and hope for the best,” Luphahla said.
“In six games, we might even take the 18 points but we need to start somewhere. I know Bulawayo Chiefs are coming from a win and they will come with confidence oozing, so we also want to take the big performance from Green Fuel and try and correct all the wrongs that have been happening.”
They take on Chiefs who are coming from a win after three defeats on the trot.
