FORMER Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side TelOne are holding on to pole position in the Ruvimbo Central Region Soccer League after a crucial 1-0 win over Kwekwe United over the weekend.
The WiFi Boys have blown hot and cold in the current campaign, but the win over the stubborn Kwekwe United outfit gave them much respite as they seek another dance in the topflight.
They dropped points last weekend when they lost 3-1 to FC Platinum Under-19 allowing second placed Tongogara to move within four points.
But they avoided another glitch with an impressive show to beat a spirited Kwekwe United in their own backyard.
Former ZPC Kariba man Blessing Sibanda notched the all-important goal for the Tendai Chikuni-coached side.
Meanwhile, army side Tongogara remain hard on their heels after winning their assignment 2-0 over Blanket Mine, courtesy of goals by Shelton Mhaka and Michael Zamba.

Third-placed ZPC Munyati are also not losing hope after beating MSU Students 3-1 on Saturday, as Chapungu grabbed a 2-0 win away to Loss Control in Zvishavane.
Shabanie Mine also rose from the ashes when they thumped Dulibadzimu United 3-1 at Maglas stadium. In another match, Bishopstone and FC Platinum U-19 settled for a 2-2 stalemate, while Amazon won 3-0 over CM Academy.
The weekend also marked the beginning of monthly awards in the Ruvimbo Central Region Soccer League. Veteran gaffer Tavaka Gumbo was voted as the Nichrut Lodge Coach of the Month of September.
MSU goal minder Hilton Nyamakope grabbed the Goalkeeper of the Month award, while Tongogara striker Simon Shanga was voted Player of the Month. EdwardWatson of Chapungu and Aubrey Nyandoro of ZPC Munyati shared the top Goal Scorer of the Month award, with four goals each.
