Zimbabwean sports fans are keen for the Zimbabwe Gems to achieve success at the 2023 Netball World cup, which starts in South Africa on Friday, and for which coverage is being provided across the continent by DStv’s SuperSport.

Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said all matches were being broadcast on the SuperSport Variety 3 Here For Her Channel throughout the tournament.

“The Gems are loved and greatly supported across Zimbabwe and we can catch all their action on this channel, which will provide coverage from Friday July 28 to Sunday August 6,” she said.

“The coverage is not only the broadcast of a major sporting event. It is equally a tribute to women in sport and this coverage helps SuperSport continue to promote women in sport across the world. In an exciting first there is an all-female SuperSport production crew involved, helping ensure full access to all 64 matches.”

The SuperSport Variety 3 Here for Her channel has been active since July 17 and is available  from DStv  Access to Premium package.

The tournament’s opening ceremony is at 4pm on Friday July 28, with coverage that day including Zimbabwe’s game against Australia before the opening ceremony (match time 11am). Zimbabwe matches against Fiji (Saturday 9am) and Tonga (Sunday 6pm) will follow.
