TRIANGLE............... (1) 1

CAPS United gaffer Llyod Chitembwe was left crying foul over poor officiating after his side was held to a 1-1 draw by Triangle at Bata stadium yesterday.

Nobert Zingo scored Triangle's goal while William Manondo equalized for the Harare giants through a penalty kick.

Although both teams settled for a share of spoils, Chitembwe was livid that his team was denied what he thought were genuine penalties.

"They must teach us about these new rules that a team must not get two penalties in a single match. They need to teach us. But I am sure, we will soon teach players that we won't get two penalties in a match,” he said.

"It’s time for people to enlighten us about these new rules. It’s unfortunate, they teach other teams. I don’t know if it's by choice not to inform us as well about the new rules. I thought we gave them one moment that easily gave them a goal. We gave that guy (Jameson Mukombwe) so much space to whip in a cross.

"And we gave that person (Zingo) a lot of space to control and score without being marked. The second thing that affected us was the team's lack of awareness," Chitembwe said.

The Green Machine created early chances through captain Joseph Thulani and Phineas Bhamusi but Triangle were thrust ahead five minutes before the break through Zingo, who had been a menace to the CAPS United defenders.

Even after the break, Caps United were trying hard but Triangle remained resolute in defence with goalie Matripples Muleya in fine form.

They were awarded a penalty on the 70th minute and Manondo calmly slotted the ball home.

Twice, Caps United were left crying foul but referee Busani Siwawa stood his ground, waving off the penalty shouts.

Triangle gaffer Thulani Sibanda was happy with his team's character.

"The result is good, especially after the 3-0 loss to Bulawayo Chiefs last week. We have been losing, but I'm happy we have picked a point.

"The boys showed good character today. I'm hopeful they will keep this spirit in the next assignments," Sibanda said.
