SHABANIE Mine has bounced back into the newly christianed Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance Services Central Region Soccer League ahead of the new season.
The Zvishavane giants did not participate in the league last season after failing to pay the mandatory affiliation fees on time, but were given a lifeline this year.
The Chinda Boys' chairman Elias Marufu bemoaned their failure to affiliate last season as it delayed their return to the top-flight league.
"We are happy to be back in the league because it was so frustrating being on the sidelines.
"Moreso as Shabanie Mine we are a big brand in the country and we are short-changing our fans because they want us to be competing with the top teams in the country," Marufu said.
"We are looking foward to a competitive season this year because there are a lot ofgood teams in the league. But as Shabanie Mine we believe we are the big boys and that should be seen by our perfomance on the field of play."

The Chinda boys will be up to claim the US$ 7000 prize money for the league winners recently unveiled by Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance Assurance Services. Ruvimbo Funeral Assurance Services' chief executive Edward Gomba said the sponsorship is the beginning of better things to come for the league.
"We love our country and we want to be actively involved in sports development in the best way we can. This sponsorship is just the first step that Ruvimbo Funeral is taking in Zimbabwean sports," Gomba said.
"We are also going to help the Central Region Soccer League get the stability that they need. We are also going to do more in sports sponsorship in other sports codes."[1]
