Do you know that sometimes, when you bring someone into your environment, they don't just bring their battles — they bring their spiritual toxins with them? There is duality to connections one can even bring in blessings and favour while others bring in battles and demonic toxins. When a person is struggling with demonic systems or influences — whether it’s under demonic princes or strongholds — bringing them into your atmosphere can contaminate your surroundings. These same demonic forces that affect them can also start affecting others, making the space toxic or spiritually corrupted. "Do not be deceived: 'Bad company corrupts good character".
(1 Corinthians 15:33, NIV) The only way to counter this is if you carry a greater blessing than the toxins they have around them.
A powerful biblical example of this is seen in the connection between Jonathan and David. Jonathan’s blessing became David’s blessing. Although David was anointed to be king, he might never have ascended to the throne without the favor on Jonathan's life. The blessing on Jonathan’s life opened the door for David’s destiny to unfold. David’s kingship was not just a result of his anointing but of the environment, Jonathan carried around him which was his princely role. Jonathan’s friendship was a key to David’s elevation. "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
(Proverbs 27:17, NIV)
God intentionally brings certain people into your life because of the role they will play in fulfilling His plans for you. But similarly, there are people you might get into your life who can corrupt the very destiny God has for you. Relationships are vital, but many people fail to seek God’s guidance when forming connections.
In the case of Jonathan, had he removed himself from his father, he would have avoided the spiritual and physical dangers that led to his death. But because he remained loyal to his father, he paid the price with his life. "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm". (Proverbs 13:20, NIV)

Many people go through battles, accepting demonic systems, because they are unaware that their environment determines the course of their lives. They do not understand that the people they surround themselves with and the spiritual atmosphere they inhabit can either propel them forward or hinder their progress.
Spiritual regions and their influence Have you ever noticed how people battling the same issues tend to gravitate toward each other? It’s because they share the same spiritual region, influenced by the same demonic forces — whether it’s poverty, addiction, or any other stronghold. Your environment and the people you invite into your life can determine your spiritual journey.
Let’s take a deeper look at how demonic pressure operates. Every person is made of a soul, a spirit, and a body. While your body is visible to others, your spirit operates in a region that affects your life. The spiritual region you’re in determines the life you will live and those that govern the region decide your lifestyle. For example, if you’re living in a region ruled by poverty, you’ll find that every attempt to rise above financial struggle is met with resistance. The demonic forces in that region don’t allow for prosperity to flourish. As you grow and increase, you may start losing relationships. The reason for this is that those individuals dwell under certain spiritual regions or systems that they’ve outgrown and are no longer qualified to remain in. They may try to pull you back into those regions, often accusing you of having changed.
The truth is, you have changed — and for good reason. You’re no longer under the same spiritual influences they are. This change was necessary for your growth and to prepare you for the place God is taking you.
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
(Ephesians 6:12, KJV)
The power of divine connections:
When God wants to elevate you, He doesn’t just give you an anointing; He sends a key relationship to open the door for you. Like David, your next season of breakthrough may come through an invitation. It could be an invitation into a higher realm of influence, where you are connected with people who can bring you into the realm of kings. This divine invitation can change the trajectory of your life. "A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men". (Proverbs 18:16, NKJV)
David, though anointed, needed Jonathan’s connection to enter the palace. The favor you need to move forward may already be placed in the hands of someone God has sent into your life. Be discerning about who you are connected to. Ask yourself: Do they have the capacity to help you step into the realm of kings, or are they part of the reason for your current struggles?"Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?"
(Amos 3:3, NIV)
A prayer for divine connections
My prayer for you is that your eyes are opened to see the relationships God is sending your way. You need people in your life who can help you enter into a higher spiritual realm. The battles you’re facing may be a result of the relationships you’ve allowed into your life.
"And Elisha prayed, 'Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.' Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."
(2 Kings 6:17, NIV)
May you be discerning, create the right connections, and surround yourself with people who will help fulfill your divine destiny. I pray that you are brought into the realm of kings, where your anointing will flourish.
