Encoded within the design of mankind is the desire to know more—about ourselves, others, our surroundings, the universe, and God. It comes as no surprise that the human mind is prone to curiosity. It is God who put this desire in man. The Bible says in Proverbs 25:2, "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; but the honor of kings is to search it out." Man always has a hunger to solve mysteries. There are also mysteries like dreams. These are mysteries that lie outside the grasp of human logic, mysteries that scientists don't even try to answer. Mysteries that will keep both nuclear physicists and 11-year-old girls turning in their beds late at night. Every person dreams, but dreams confuse even the wisest of men. “In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep” (Daniel 2:1). The king could not sleep because he had a terrible dream.
Every person has had a dream where they woke up and thought, "This can't just be a dream; there is a message behind this." Many cultures regard dreams highly, and even if you say you do not believe in dreams, there are some dreams you cannot ignore. Dreams require interpretation, and even when a dream seems plain, there is a message hidden within the dream.
How many dreams have you had where you woke up thinking, "I think this was not just a dream"? When a dream comes, it is encoded because God understands that anything you cannot decode, you might not have the capacity to sustain.
God gave Pharaoh the dream of the seven fat cows and the seven slim cows because He understood that Pharaoh had the capacity to execute what the dream required. In a way, dreams hide things intentionally because God knows that those who seek understanding will also have the capacity to manage what they have unlocked or decoded.
When Pharaoh was seeking the interpretation of his dream, he met Joseph, a man who not only had the ability to interpret the dream but also had the capacity to manage and execute it. When God gives you a dream, and in the process of seeking and understanding, you unlock the key figures or principles you will need to execute the dream or vision He gave you. This shows that God intentionally hides things because He knows that those who are seekers have the ability and strength to perform what the dream requires. The Bible says, "The things that are hidden belong to God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and our children" (Deuteronomy 29:29). God intentionally hides things. Imagine that God knows the past, present, and future. He can watch your birth, see your marriage, and observe you playing with your grandchildren all at the same moment.
Even though God sees everything and knows everything, He is so concerned with the smallest details of our lives. Do you know that before you were formed in your mother’s womb, He already had planned out your life? The Bible says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11). The plan is already there, and the secret is to discover that plan and walk into it. God will send dreams and use circumstances to nudge you in the direction you should take.
God intentionally directed you to this article because there are dreams and things that He has been showing you that are key to the place He has called you. My prayer is that you become a seeker and discover the will and plans that He has for you. As you execute these plans, may you see His glory and power. God bless you
