A-15-year-old boy from Hamayemhuka village in Guruve died last Wednesday after an ox-drawn cart overturned and trapped him and his two siblings, who are now battling for life at a local hospital.
Acting Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo said Huggin Kamhuka died upon admission at Guruve hospital.
It is alleged that Kamhuka was seated on the board of the ox-drawn cart when it hit a stump. He was severely injured on the head when it overturned.
A passerby rescued the trio and rushed them to hospital, but Kamhuka died upon admission.
Police urged parents and guardians to ensure that ox-drawn carts were always led by someone at the front.
