Three men  linked to a series of robbery cases in Masvingo have been sentenced to a combined 345 years in jail.

Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi identified the suspects as Clever Svuure (28), Vusumuzi Bhebhe (25), and Yasin Joseph (21).

He said the trio were linked to 14 armed robbery cases, including two that occurred on January 15 this year.

“In the first incident, the suspects stole a Mazda Axela vehicle, US$20 cash, a laptop, and three cellphones from a house in Clipsham View, Masvingo,” Nyathi said.

“In the second incident, the complainant was attacked with a machete before the suspects stole two cellphones, cash, and valuables from a house at Lot A Victoria Range, Masvingo.”

“The arrests led to the recovery of a Mazda Axela vehicle, various cellphones, groceries, solar panels, and household goods.”

The trio appeared at the Masvingo regional magistrate court last Wednesday where they were convicted and sentenced.
