The Nkayi Rural district Council (RDC) in Matabeleland North says it is planning to develop land for new residential stands, which will include a provision for the construction of high rise buildings at Nkayi Centre.
Council plans to develop the Sihlangabeza area to expand the centre.
Nkayi RDC chief executive officer Silibele Mpofu said they had already started pegging high, medium and low-density housing stands.
“The stands have not been released as of yet and we are still doing logistics in terms of pegging,” Mpofu said.
“ The stands will include high, medium and low density stands including flats,” he said.
“In terms of servicing the stands, we are planning to utilise a land developer and at the same time use the council resources.
