A ZVISHAVANE man has been jailed 18 years for killing his wife following a dispute over relish money.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, on April 14, 2022, Nobert Mhlanga (38) and his wife were at their homestead at Tagwirei village when a misunderstanding arose over money meant for relish.
The now-deceased had bought a satchel using the money meant for relish.
The misunderstanding escalated and Mhlanga physically assaulted his wife at the same time dragging her outside.
He struck her three times on the head and all over her body using a hoe and stones. She died on the spot.
The matter was reported to the police, leading to Mhlanga’s arrest.
