Zimbabwean migrants residing in South Africa without legal documents have been urged to consider sending their children back home to school.

Zimbabwe Community in South Africa chairperson Ngqabutho Mabhena said it was unfair for parents to stay with undocumented children when they are not able to enroll at public schools in that country.

"As we have been explaining, if you do not have a permit as a parent, you are not regulated in South Africa. You cannot apply for the study permit for your children,” Mabhena said.

“We must consider the interest of our children and send them back to Zimbabwe, so that they attend school.”

There are mass deportations of undocumented Zimbabweans from South Africa taking place now.

Reports have emerged where South African immigration officials and protest groups such as Dudula are visiting companies in that country searching for illegal immigrants.
