He replaced his father Chief Vezi Maduna Mafu who died at the age of 85 in February 2021.
Villagers raised concerns over the recent demotion of their village heads, calling it “a rapid institutional inertia”.
A villager from Chetumbu area, Trust Malunga, accused one senior village head, Anton Msimanga, of making false reports to the Chief to soil the image of his colleagues resulting in their dismissal.
“We believe that one of the senior village heads in the area is primarily to blame for the demotion of four village heads, as he goes to the chief and spreads unfounded rumours about other village heads,” Malunga said.
