A 27-YEAR-OLD Gweru man has been sentenced to 18 years in jail for killing his 94-year-old grandmother after accusing her of being a witch.
Takudzwa Mugariri was on Wednesday arraigned before the High Court and convicted of murder charges.
The court was told that on February 3, Mugariri struck his grandmother using a log several times all over the body leading to her death.
He accused her of bewitching him.
A police report was filed, leading to Mugariri’s arrest.
