TWO security officers have appeared in court for stealing mining equipment worth more than US$194 000.
Fungai Mufundirwa (38), a security manager at Garlpex Investments (Private) Limited and Kaseba Cosmas Ngwenya (72), a guard at the same company were arraigned before the Hwange Magistrates Court on a theft of trust property charge.
Mufundirwa and Ngwenya will appear in court today for bail ruling.
It is alleged that in July this year, Mufundirwa and Ngwenya asked two men to find them some buyers for the mining equipment.
The men brought a buyer from Bulawayo, who bought the equipment for US$3 000 and later resold it to a Chinese company in the city.
Mufundirwa and Ngwenya, however, allegedly made a police report claiming that the mining equipment had been stolen.
