A SECURITY GUARD stationed at Lupane Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s offices allegedly raped a maid after threatening to shoot her.
The suspect, Vincent Tshuma (50) appeared before Lupane resident magistrate Barbara Ntambie Phiri on Wednesday.
He was remanded in custody to August 28.
The court advised him to apply to the High Court for bail.
Prosecutor Zandile Laureen Ndebele said on August 10 at 8pm, Tshuma arrived at his home in the company of a friend after which the complainant (24) served him with food.
It is allege that at 10pm, he ordered the woman to accompany them to their workplace.

Along the way, he instructed his friend to go home, leaving him and the woman.
The court heard that when they arrived, he demanded sex from her and she refused.
The woman tried to stop him, but he threatened to shoot her.
He allegedly stripped her naked and pushed her down before raping her.
After the rape he accompanied her home where he warned her against reporting the abuse to anyone. - SILAS NKALA
