TWO fishermen suffered severe burns when an inferno engulfed Sengwa Fishing Camp in Binga, Matabeleland North province, destroying property worth US$40 000.
The fire, which occurred last week, destroyed at least 30 huts.
Tyunga-Luunga ward 1 councillor Minister Sinamunsanga confirmed the incident.
“We have sent reports of the incident to all relevant offices seeking assistance for all the affected households,” Sinamunsanga said.
“We kindly request all well-wishers to come forth in cash and kind. Any form of assistance will go a long way towards cushioning the affected families.”
It is alleged that a fuel tank in one of the huts exploded, resulting in the inferno.
