The operations were conducted from May 1 to 19 at two theatres.
Forty eight volunteers from the United States, Zimbabwe and Canada were registered through the respective medical and nursing councils, including a team led by Jennifer Mora Trubenbach.
“A total of the following surgeries were performed: cleft lips (35), cleft palates (24), lipoma (16), burn surgeries ( 2), procedures (2) hand and foot burn contractures and (1) nose reconstructions, cancer biopsy and (1) mandibular resection,” Trubenbach told Southern Eye on Sunday.
“Other surgical procedures included the following: cyst removal, cheek mass, lip and palate revisions. The youngest patient was two months old and the oldest patient was 69 years old.”
