A 22-YEAR-OLD man from Lobengula West employed as a security guard at Delta Beverages Company has been slapped with a 12-month sentence for stealing 211 litres of diesel fuel.
Madodana Ncube pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube on Monday. Three months of his sentence were suspended for five years on conditions of good behaviour.
A further three months were suspended on condition that he pays restitution.
The complainant in the matter is Delta Beverages Company represented by Nkosinathi Moyo, the company’s loss control officer.
The court heard that on March 11 at Delta Beverages Company, Ncube stole 211 litres of diesel fuel.
Ncube was implicated after a spot check was conducted on fuel vouchers.

The court heard that it was discovered that Ncube had written a fake serial voucher number 669042 in a bid to cover up the theft.
