A COOKING fire that was left unattended destroyed a house in New Parklands, Bulawayo and a vehicle that was parked nearby on Sunday.
Council’s acting chief fire officer, Linos Phiri confirmed the incident.
“The brigade found the entire wooden cabin structure severely damaged by fire and a private motor vehicle well alight,” Phiri said.
“The private motor vehicle was parked near the wooden cabin, so it also caught fire. There was an open fire which was made just next to the wooden cabin.”
The cost of the damage is estimated at US$50 0000.
